Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture to join our esteemed faculty. This role involves engaging in cutting-edge research, teaching advanced landscape architecture courses, and contributing to the development of the curriculum that aligns with current trends and future directions in the field.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver undergraduate and graduate courses in landscape architecture, focusing on design theory, sustainability, and technology integration.
- Conduct original research in landscape architecture, contributing to scholarly publications and presentations at national and international conferences.
- Mentor and advise students on academic and professional development, fostering a culture of creativity and inquiry.
- Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to enhance interdisciplinary approaches to landscape architecture education and practice.
- Engage with community stakeholders and the professional landscape architecture community to promote applied research initiatives.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- PhD or terminal degree in Landscape Architecture or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in landscape architecture design, planning, and theory.
- Evidence of effective teaching at the college level and a commitment to student success.
- Strong research portfolio with publications in peer-reviewed journals or equivalent.
Preferred:
- Professional licensure in landscape architecture.
- Experience with digital design tools and technologies, including GIS, CAD, and 3D modeling software.
- Established network within the landscape architecture profession.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in landscape architecture design software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite).
