Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Figure Skating Coach to join our team, where you will play a crucial role in developing and nurturing the skills of our athletes. Responsibilities
- Design and deliver comprehensive training plans that enhance athletes' skating techniques, choreography, and performance skills.
- Conduct on-ice and off-ice training sessions, emphasizing proper techniques, safety protocols, and injury prevention.
- Evaluate athlete performance through regular assessments and provide constructive feedback to facilitate improvement.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to set realistic goals and expectations for skaters, ensuring open communication regarding progress.
- Organize and oversee participation in competitions, including preparation and logistical arrangements.
- Stay current with the latest trends in figure skating coaching, techniques, and methodologies to continuously enhance the training program.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of 3 years of coaching experience in figure skating, with a proven track record of developing competitive skaters.
- Strong understanding of figure skating techniques, choreography, and competition requirements.
- Certification from a recognized figure skating coaching organization (e.g., US Figure Skating, Skate Canada).
Preferred:
- Experience coaching skaters at various levels, from beginner to competitive.
- Background in sports science or physical education.
- Experience with off-ice training and conditioning programs.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in video analysis software for performance evaluation and feedback.
- Understanding of sports analytics to track athlete progress and performance metrics.
