Role Overview
We are seeking an esteemed academic leader for the position of Endowed Chair in Human Performance. Responsibilities
- Develop and lead a cutting-edge research agenda in human performance, focusing on areas such as biomechanics, physiology, and motor control
- Collaborate with faculty and stakeholders to enhance the curriculum and create impactful educational experiences for students
- Mentor graduate and undergraduate students, fostering a culture of academic excellence and research integrity
- Secure external funding through grants and partnerships to support research initiatives
- Engage with the broader community and industry partners to promote applied research in human performance
- Publish scholarly articles in top-tier journals and present findings at national and international conferences
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the department and university through leadership and service
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Ph.D. in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field
- Demonstrated record of research excellence, evidenced by publications in peer-reviewed journals
- Strong track record of securing research funding from competitive sources
- Significant experience in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Proven ability to lead interdisciplinary collaborations
Preferred:
- Experience as a department chair or in a similar leadership role
- Established connections within the academic and professional communities related to human performance
- Experience in curriculum development and program assessment
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in academia
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
