Role Overview
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Assistant Professor of Human Performance to join our esteemed faculty. This position is crucial in advancing research and teaching in the fields of exercise science, kinesiology, and health promotion. You will engage with students and contribute to innovative curriculum development, while actively participating in scholarly research that impacts the community and enhances the understanding of human movement and performance.
Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging undergraduate and graduate courses in human performance, exercise science, and related disciplines.
- Develop and implement a research agenda that contributes to the field of human performance and enhances the university's reputation.
- Advise and mentor students in academic and professional development, fostering a supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with faculty and staff on interdisciplinary research projects and community outreach initiatives.
- Publish research findings in reputable journals and present at academic conferences to disseminate knowledge.
- Participate in departmental and university service activities, contributing to the governance and growth of the academic community.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Ph.D. in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Human Performance, or a related field.
- Demonstrated record of research productivity and a strong publication history.
- Experience teaching at the university level, with a commitment to innovative and inclusive pedagogical practices.
- Proficiency in assessment techniques and the ability to analyze and interpret data related to human performance.
Preferred:
- Experience in grant writing and securing funding for research projects.
- Expertise in applied human performance assessment and intervention strategies.
- Ability to engage in community partnerships and collaborative research initiatives.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
- Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, or similar) for data analysis.
- Experience with human performance assessment tools and technologies.
