Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Hearing Examiner to lead our adjudication team, ensuring fair and thorough hearings in accordance with established regulations and policies. The Chief Hearing Examiner will play a critical role in overseeing case evaluations, conducting hearings, and providing guidance to staff on complex legal matters.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the hearing examination process, ensuring compliance with all legal standards and organizational policies.
- Conduct detailed reviews of cases, assessing evidence and testimony to make informed decisions.
- Facilitate hearings, maintaining order and ensuring that all parties have the opportunity to present their cases effectively.
- Provide oversight and mentorship to junior examiners, fostering professional development and adherence to best practices.

- Prepare comprehensive reports and findings to communicate decisions and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.

Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification with a minimum of 10 years of experience in legal settings, preferably in administrative law or adjudication.
- Strong understanding of hearing processes, legal standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Proven track record of managing complex hearings and making sound legal determinations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex legal concepts clearly.
Preferred:
- Experience in a supervisory role, demonstrating leadership and team management skills.
- Familiarity with alternative dispute resolution processes.
- Membership in relevant professional organizations or associations.
