Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Head Start Director to join our team, where you will play a critical role in supporting the Head Start program's mission to promote school readiness for children from low-income families. You will collaborate closely with the Head Start Director to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations while fostering a nurturing and educational environment that meets the unique needs of our community.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the overall management and administration of the Head Start program, ensuring alignment with program goals and objectives.
- Support the Head Start Director in overseeing program operations, including curriculum implementation, staff development, and family engagement initiatives.
- Monitor and evaluate program performance, utilizing data to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
- Facilitate staff meetings, providing guidance and support to teaching and administrative staff to enhance program quality.
- Act as a liaison with community partners, stakeholders, and families to promote the program's visibility and support services.
- Lead efforts to ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and other regulatory requirements, conducting regular reviews and audits.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in early childhood education or a related field, with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Strong knowledge of Head Start regulations and best practices in early childhood education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience in program management or administration within a Head Start or similar program.
- Familiarity with community resources and services available to families.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with data management systems.
- Ability to analyze program data and generate reports to support program improvement initiatives.
