Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and compassionate Director of Counseling Services to lead our dynamic team in providing exceptional mental health support. In this pivotal role, you will oversee program development, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and cultivate a culture of excellence and inclusivity within our counseling services.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of innovative counseling programs that meet the diverse needs of our community.
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for all counseling services, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and best practices.
- Foster a collaborative and supportive environment for staff through training, mentoring, and performance evaluation.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations, including accreditation standards and ethical guidelines.
- Develop and manage budgets for counseling services, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
- Engage with community stakeholders to promote services and expand outreach efforts.
- Utilize data-driven approaches to assess program effectiveness and inform continuous improvement initiatives.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in counseling services, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong understanding of mental health regulations and ethical standards.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful counseling programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
Preferred:
- Licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or equivalent.
- Experience in a nonprofit or community-based organization.
- Expertise in trauma-informed care and crisis intervention strategies.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and case management software.
- Understanding of data analytics tools to measure program outcomes and impact.
- Familiarity with telehealth platforms and digital counseling resources.
