Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Golf Course Architect to join our innovative design team. In this role, you will leverage your extensive knowledge of golf course architecture to lead the design and development of exceptional golf facilities that enhance the player experience. You will work closely with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to deliver sustainable, aesthetically pleasing, and strategically challenging golf courses.
Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization, design, and execution of golf course projects from initial planning through completion, ensuring adherence to industry standards and client expectations.
- Conduct site evaluations and feasibility studies, providing clear recommendations based on environmental, topographical, and community considerations.
- Collaborate with civil engineers, landscape architects, and environmental consultants to create cohesive and sustainable designs.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively while maintaining high-quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Present design concepts and proposals to clients and stakeholders, articulating the vision and strategic intent behind each project.
- Mentor and guide junior architects and design staff, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and professional growth within the team.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design, or a related field.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in golf course design, with a proven track record of successfully completed projects.
- Strong understanding of agronomy, ecology, and sustainable design practices.
- Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred:
- Professional certification in golf course architecture (e.g., ASGCA membership).
- Experience with advanced design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and GIS applications.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders in various geographic locations.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in CAD and 3D modeling software to produce detailed design plans and visualizations.
