Role Overview
We are seeking a distinguished scholar for the position of Endowed Chair in Forest Pathology, who will lead innovative research initiatives, mentor emerging scientists, and contribute significantly to the academic community. Responsibilities
- Develop and lead an internationally recognized research program in forest pathology, focusing on emerging diseases and their management in forest ecosystems.
- Secure external funding through grants and partnerships to support research initiatives and graduate student training.
- Teach and develop graduate-level courses in forest pathology and related disciplines, promoting a robust learning environment.
- Mentor and supervise graduate students and postdoctoral researchers, fostering their professional development and research skills.
- Engage with stakeholders, including forestry professionals and conservation organizations, to translate research findings into practical applications.
- Publish high-quality research in peer-reviewed journals and present findings at national and international conferences.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Ph.D. in Plant Pathology, Forestry, or a closely related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of research experience in forest pathology, with a strong publication record.
- Demonstrated success in securing competitive research funding.
- Experience in teaching and mentoring at the graduate level.
