Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Junior Flight Paramedic to join our dynamic emergency medical services team. In this role, you will provide critical care and support to patients during air medical transport, working closely with an experienced team of paramedics and medical personnel to ensure the highest standards of care.
Responsibilities
- Assist in providing emergency medical care to patients in a flight environment, including assessment, interventions, and monitoring of vital signs.
- Collaborate with flight nurses and other medical personnel to develop and implement patient care plans during transport.
- Conduct pre-flight equipment checks to ensure all medical devices and supplies are operational and ready for use.
- Participate in patient loading and unloading, ensuring safe handling and transportation practices.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, crew, and aircraft.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development to enhance clinical skills and knowledge in emergency medical services.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Current certification as a Paramedic (NREMT-P or equivalent).
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in a pre-hospital or emergency medical environment.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Strong understanding of emergency medical protocols and procedures.
Preferred:
- Experience in a flight paramedic role or air medical transport.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
- Knowledge of aviation safety protocols and practices.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in the use of medical equipment specific to air medical transport, including ventilators, cardiac monitors, and IV infusion pumps.
- Familiarity with electronic patient care reporting systems and documentation practices.
- Ability to perform advanced airway management and other critical procedures in a confined space.
