Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated First Officer to join our Air Ambulance team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and efficiency of flight operations while providing essential support to medical personnel in the transport of patients. Your expertise will directly impact patient care and outcomes during air transport missions.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Captain in all aspects of flight operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and operational protocols
- Conduct pre-flight checks, including weather assessment, aircraft systems review, and safety briefings
- Support the medical team during patient loading and unloading, ensuring a smooth and safe transition for patients
- Maintain a thorough understanding of emergency procedures and protocols, ready to respond effectively in high-pressure situations
- Collaborate with ground support teams to coordinate flight logistics and ensure timely departures
- Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance flying skills and operational knowledge
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) with an instrument rating
- Minimum of 1,500 hours of total flight time, including 500 hours of multi-engine time
- Experience flying in various weather conditions and complex airspace
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with medical staff and ground crews
- Ability to remain calm and decisive in emergency situations
Preferred:
- Previous experience in air ambulance or medical transport operations
- Knowledge of advanced aviation technologies and navigation systems
- Training in Crew Resource Management (CRM) and emergency response
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in aircraft systems and operational procedures
- Familiarity with aviation software for flight planning and navigational support
- Experience with safety equipment and medical transport protocols
