Role Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and organized Family Support Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing guidance, resources, and support to families navigating complex systems and challenges. Your primary focus will be on fostering strong relationships with families and ensuring they have access to the necessary services and information to thrive.
Responsibilities
- Act as a primary point of contact for families, providing empathetic support and assistance in navigating available resources
- Conduct assessments to identify family needs and develop personalized support plans
- Facilitate communication between families and service providers to ensure comprehensive support
- Organize and lead workshops, support groups, and informational sessions for families
- Maintain thorough documentation of family interactions, progress, and outcomes
- Collaborate with community organizations and stakeholders to enhance service offerings and accessibility
- Advocate for families' needs within the organization and community
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, education, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in family support, social services, or a related area
- Strong understanding of community resources and support systems
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred:
- Experience working with diverse populations and understanding of cultural competency
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and policies affecting family services
- Fluency in additional languages is a plus
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in using case management software and tools
- Experience with data tracking and reporting
- Familiarity with virtual communication platforms and remote collaboration tools
