Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Family Preservation Worker to join our team, focusing on delivering comprehensive support and intervention services to families in crisis. You will play a vital role in assisting families to maintain stability, safety, and well-being within their homes, while promoting positive family dynamics and self-sufficiency.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to identify family needs, strengths, and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement individualized service plans that align with family goals and needs.
- Provide direct support and counseling to families, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.
- Collaborate with community resources, schools, and service providers to coordinate services and supports for families.
- Monitor progress and adjust service plans as necessary to ensure ongoing effectiveness.
- Facilitate family meetings and support groups to encourage open communication and problem-solving.
- Document all interactions and maintain accurate records in compliance with organizational policies and relevant regulations.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- 1+ years of experience working with families in crisis or similar settings.
- Strong understanding of family systems theory and trauma-informed care.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse families.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Social Work or a related field.
- Experience in conducting assessments and developing service plans.
- Familiarity with community resources and support services available to families.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in utilizing case management software and electronic health records.
