Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and innovative Director of Energy Engineering to lead our engineering team in developing cutting-edge energy solutions that align with our mission of sustainable energy practices. This role will involve overseeing engineering projects from conception through execution, ensuring that our technical strategies and innovations are in line with industry standards and best practices.
Responsibilities
- Lead the energy engineering team in designing and implementing energy solutions that meet client needs while promoting sustainability and efficiency.
- Develop and execute a strategic vision for energy engineering projects, including renewable energy systems, energy efficiency measures, and innovative technology integrations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, regulatory, and operations, to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with organizational goals.
- Conduct thorough assessments of energy systems and technologies, providing technical guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
- Mentor and develop engineering talent within the team, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and high performance.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand their energy needs and provide cutting-edge solutions that drive value and efficiency.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in energy engineering, with a focus on renewable energy and efficiency projects.
- Proven track record of leading complex engineering projects from concept to completion.
- Strong knowledge of energy regulations, policies, and best practices in the energy sector.
- Demonstrated experience in budget management and resource allocation for engineering projects.
Preferred:
- Ph.D. in a relevant field is highly desirable.
- Experience with energy modeling software and tools.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and certifications (e.g., PMP).
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in renewable energy technologies, including solar, wind, and energy storage systems.
- Proficient in energy modeling and simulation software, such as HOMER, RETScreen, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of energy management systems and smart grid technologies.
