Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Electrical Estimator to lead our estimating team in developing comprehensive and competitive bids for electrical projects. In this strategic role, you will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure that all estimates are accurate, timely, and reflective of our commitment to quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the estimating process for electrical projects, ensuring all bids are thoroughly evaluated and competitive.
- Lead a team of estimators, providing mentorship and guidance to enhance their skills and productivity.
- Develop and maintain relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
- Review and analyze project specifications, drawings, and scope of work to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Implement and improve estimating strategies and methodologies to drive efficiency and accuracy.
- Conduct risk assessments and feasibility studies to identify potential challenges and opportunities.
- Present estimates to senior management and clients, articulating the rationale behind cost projections.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in electrical estimating, with a proven track record in managing large-scale projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and standards.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex technical documents.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools, such as Accubid or similar applications.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Experience in commercial and industrial electrical projects.
- Project management experience is a plus.
- Professional certifications in estimating or related fields (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator).
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in electrical design and installation practices.
- Familiarity with project management software and tools.
- Understanding of building information modeling (BIM) and its applications in estimating.
