- Maintain and troubleshoot EKG equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety standards
- Educate patients on pre-test preparations and post-test care protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to discuss findings and assist in developing patient care plans
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an EKG Technician training program
- Certification as an EKG Technician (e.g., through the National Healthcareer Association or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Excellent patient interaction skills and a compassionate approach to care
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience as an EKG Technician or in a related healthcare role
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Basic life support (BLS) certification
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in operating EKG machines and interpreting EKG waveforms
- Experience with patient monitoring systems and telemetry
- Knowledge of safety protocols and infection control standards in healthcare settings
