Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced EKG Supervisor to lead our team of cardiac technologists and ensure the highest standards of patient care and diagnostic accuracy in our electrocardiography department. This role is critical for maintaining operational excellence and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within our clinical setting.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of the EKG department, ensuring compliance with established protocols and standards
- Conduct quality assurance audits to ensure the accuracy and reliability of EKG results
- Provide leadership and mentorship to EKG technologists, promoting professional development and skill enhancement
- Coordinate scheduling and workflow to optimize patient throughput and service delivery
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to discuss patient care strategies and diagnostic approaches
- Implement and oversee training programs for new staff and ongoing education for existing team members
- Manage departmental budget and resources effectively, ensuring cost-efficient operations
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Registered EKG Technician (CET) or equivalent certification
- 3+ years of experience in an EKG department, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role
- Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and EKG interpretation
- Proven ability to lead a team and manage departmental operations
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., cardiovascular technology, healthcare management)
- Experience with EHR systems and related healthcare technologies
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and accreditation standards in cardiovascular services
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in operating EKG machines and interpreting electrocardiograms
- Strong analytical skills for assessing EKG data and troubleshooting equipment
- Experience with quality assurance and improvement methodologies in a clinical environment
