Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and visionary Executive Director of University Housing to lead the development and implementation of innovative housing solutions that enhance the student living experience. This pivotal role involves overseeing all aspects of university housing operations, fostering collaboration among various stakeholders, and ensuring the effective management of residential facilities.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive housing strategy that aligns with the university's mission and enhances student engagement and satisfaction.
- Oversee the administration of housing policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Manage the operational budget for university housing, ensuring fiscal responsibility and efficient utilization of resources.
- Lead a team of housing professionals, providing mentorship, guidance, and performance evaluations to foster professional growth.
- Collaborate with campus partners, including student affairs and academic departments, to create a supportive and inclusive residential environment.
- Implement innovative approaches to housing services, including technology integration to improve operational efficiency and the student experience.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's degree in higher education administration, business administration, or a related field.
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in housing or residential life within a higher education setting.
- Proven track record of managing complex housing operations and leading diverse teams.
- Strong understanding of student development theories and their application in residential settings.
Preferred:
- Experience with crisis management and conflict resolution in a university housing context.
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing strategic initiatives that enhance student engagement and retention.
- Familiarity with sustainable housing practices and initiatives.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in housing management software and database systems.
- Understanding of data analytics to inform decision-making and improve housing services.
- Experience with budget management systems and financial reporting.
