Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Chief Construction Officer (CCO) to lead our construction initiatives and drive operational excellence across all projects. As a key member of the executive team, you will be responsible for setting strategic direction, overseeing project execution, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. This role demands a visionary leader who can inspire teams, manage complex projects, and foster a culture of safety and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the overall construction strategy, aligning with the company's vision and growth objectives.
- Oversee all phases of construction projects, from planning and design through execution and completion, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Lead a diverse team of project managers, engineers, and field personnel, promoting collaboration and professional development.
- Establish and enforce quality standards, safety regulations, and compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure adherence to project timelines and specifications.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Advocate for sustainable construction practices and promote innovative building techniques to enhance project efficiency and environmental responsibility.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects from inception to completion.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, methods, and materials, as well as relevant regulations and compliance standards.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze complex situations and make informed decisions under pressure.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with digital construction tools and project management software.
- Familiarity with green building practices and certifications (e.g., LEED).
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep understanding of construction project management methodologies and tools.
- Experience with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and CAD software.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools to track project performance and metrics.
