Role Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Director of Construction to lead our construction operations across multiple projects. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing project execution, ensuring adherence to safety standards, optimizing resource allocation, and driving overall project success from conception through completion.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and execution of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and regulatory agencies, to facilitate effective project delivery.
- Develop and implement strategic construction plans that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Monitor project progress, performance metrics, and compliance with safety regulations, making adjustments as necessary to meet project targets.
- Manage and mentor construction teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Analyze and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive solutions are in place to address potential challenges.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in construction management, with a proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective teams.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with project management software and construction management tools.
- Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional) or CCM (Certified Construction Manager).
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera, MS Project).
- Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) and other advanced construction technologies.
- Understanding of sustainable construction practices and green building certifications (e.g., LEED).
