Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Directional Drilling Supervisor to join our team at [$COMPANY_NAME]. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate directional drilling operations, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards
- Lead and mentor a team of drilling engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence
- Develop and implement drilling plans, including well profiles, drilling parameters, and contingency plans
- Monitor drilling performance in real-time, analyzing data to optimize drilling efficiency and minimize costs
- Conduct pre-spud meetings and post-well reviews to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including geologists, reservoir engineers, and project managers, to ensure alignment with overall project objectives
- Manage relationships with contractors and service providers, ensuring quality and compliance with contractual obligations
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in directional drilling, with a proven track record of successful project execution
- Strong understanding of drilling engineering principles and practices, including wellbore survey techniques and drilling optimization
- Experience leading teams in a challenging operational environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with advanced drilling technologies, such as rotary steerable systems and downhole tools
- Familiarity with drilling software and data analysis tools
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to drilling operations
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in drilling engineering software (e.g., Landmark, Petrel, or similar)
- Understanding of wellbore stability analysis and drilling fluid properties
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems for real-time monitoring of drilling operations
