Role Overview
We are seeking a strategic and dynamic VP of Convention Services to lead our initiatives in enhancing event experiences and driving operational excellence across our convention service offerings. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your extensive expertise in event management to elevate our brand's presence and ensure the successful delivery of high-impact conventions and exhibitions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for convention services that aligns with the company's vision and objectives.
- Oversee all aspects of convention operations, including planning, logistics, vendor management, and customer experience.
- Lead and mentor a team of convention service professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, venues, and industry partners, to enhance event offerings.
- Analyze market trends and customer feedback to identify opportunities for innovation and service enhancement.
- Implement best practices in event management and operational efficiency to achieve cost savings and improve service delivery.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards while maintaining the highest levels of quality and safety.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 10+ years of experience in event management or convention services, with significant leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic initiatives within the convention industry.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budget management and resource allocation.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Preferred:
- Experience in a VP-level role or equivalent in a leading convention services organization.
- Advanced degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Familiarity with emerging technologies and trends in event management.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in event management software and tools, CRM systems, and data analytics platforms.
