Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Ironworker Supervisor to lead our team in executing complex structural steel projects. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and leadership acumen, ensuring that all work is completed safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily activities of ironworkers on-site, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and quality standards.
- Interpret blueprints and specifications to determine construction requirements and sequencing of work activities.
- Conduct regular inspections of work performed, providing guidance and support to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Manage workforce scheduling and allocation, optimizing productivity while minimizing downtime.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to resolve technical issues and facilitate effective communication among all stakeholders.
- Implement safety training programs and promote a culture of safety within the team.
- Document project progress, including daily reports, incident reports, and compliance with safety regulations.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in ironworking, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of structural steel fabrication and erection processes.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safety standards in construction.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
Preferred:
- Certification as an Ironworker Supervisor or equivalent.
- Experience with project management software and tools.
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in using hand and power tools relevant to ironworking.
- Proficiency in safety equipment and practices associated with construction sites.
- Familiarity with construction project management software.
