Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Superintendent (Bridge Ironwork) to oversee and manage the construction and maintenance of bridge ironwork projects. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all work is completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while maintaining compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise bridge ironwork projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure smooth workflow and efficient resource allocation.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and safety compliance, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and materials, ensuring cost-effective operations.
- Foster a culture of safety on-site by enforcing safety protocols and conducting safety training sessions for the team.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies, maintaining transparent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in construction management, specifically in bridge ironwork or related fields.
- Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale construction projects, with a focus on quality and safety.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles and construction methodologies related to bridge ironwork.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience with structural steel fabrication and installation.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations concerning bridge construction and maintenance.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and construction management tools.
- Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and other design software used in bridge construction.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
