Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced CMM Supervisor to lead our quality inspection team in ensuring precision and accuracy in our manufacturing processes. This role will be instrumental in overseeing the use of Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to validate and enhance product quality, while also driving continuous improvement initiatives across our operations.
Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily operations of the CMM inspection team, ensuring adherence to quality standards and procedures
- Develop and implement CMM inspection plans, including the selection of appropriate measurement methods and technologies
- Conduct regular training sessions for team members on CMM operations, programming, and best practices
- Analyze measurement data and generate detailed reports to communicate findings and recommendations to management
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to troubleshoot quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to quality assurance and measurement
- Lead continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of inspection processes
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in quality control or inspection, with a focus on CMM operations
- Proven leadership abilities, with experience managing a team of quality inspectors
- Strong understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles
- Proficiency in CMM programming and operation, including experience with software such as PC-DMIS or similar
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
Preferred:
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, particularly in aerospace or automotive sectors
- Certifications related to quality management systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001) are a plus
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) techniques
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Expertise in CMM programming and operation
- Familiarity with measurement and inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators
- Experience with quality management software and data analysis tools
