Role Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior CMM Programmer to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and implementing measurement protocols to ensure product quality and compliance with specifications. You will collaborate closely with senior engineers to enhance your programming skills and gain hands-on experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM).
Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation and modification of CMM programs for various measurement tasks, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct measurements and inspections on manufactured components using CMM technology.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to analyze measurement results and identify areas for process improvement.
- Help maintain and calibrate CMM equipment to ensure optimal operational performance.
- Document inspection results and maintain records in accordance with quality standards.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives to address quality issues.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Associate's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- Familiarity with CMM operation and programming.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Experience with CMM software such as PC-DMIS or similar.
- Internship or hands-on experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in programming languages relevant to CMM programming.
- Basic knowledge of CAD software to interpret engineering drawings.
- Understanding of statistical process control (SPC) and quality measurement techniques.
