Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Child Protective Services Supervisor to lead our team in safeguarding the well-being of children and families. This role entails overseeing case management processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability among staff as we work towards enhancing child safety and welfare in our communities.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a team of caseworkers in the assessment and management of child welfare cases, ensuring adherence to state and federal guidelines.
- Conduct regular case reviews and provide guidance on complex cases, utilizing your expertise to facilitate effective decision-making.
- Develop and implement training programs for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in child protective services and trauma-informed practices.
- Collaborate with community partners, including schools, law enforcement, and healthcare providers, to coordinate resources and support for families.
- Monitor and evaluate service delivery and outcomes, implementing improvements as necessary to enhance program effectiveness.
- Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders, articulating program goals, challenges, and successes.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in child welfare or a related field, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of child protection laws and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop appropriate interventions.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Social Work or a related field.
- Experience with trauma-informed care practices and family-centered approaches.
- Certification in child welfare or related areas.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in case management software and electronic record-keeping systems.
- Strong data analysis skills to assess program outcomes and inform decision-making.
- Familiarity with remote collaboration tools to effectively lead a distributed team.
