Role Overview
We are seeking a visionary Director of Ergonomics to lead our efforts in creating optimal user-centered designs that enhance productivity and well-being across our products. In this role, you will drive the ergonomic strategy, aligning with cross-functional teams to innovate and implement solutions that prioritize human factors and usability.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of ergonomic strategies and initiatives to ensure user-friendly design across all product lines
- Collaborate with product management, engineering, and design teams to integrate ergonomic principles into the product development lifecycle
- Conduct comprehensive ergonomic assessments and usability evaluations to identify improvement opportunities
- Establish industry-leading ergonomic standards and best practices, ensuring compliance and advocacy for user-centered design
- Oversee research and analysis of user behavior and feedback to inform design choices and enhance user satisfaction
- Mentor and develop a high-performing team of ergonomics specialists, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master’s degree in Ergonomics, Human Factors, Industrial Design, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in ergonomics or human factors engineering, with a proven track record of successful product design
- Strong knowledge of ergonomic principles, standards, and assessment methodologies
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and driving strategic initiatives
Preferred:
- PhD in Ergonomics, Human Factors, or a related field
- Experience in consumer electronics or technology sectors
- Published research in ergonomics or human factors
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in ergonomic assessment tools and software, including CAD and simulation tools
- Familiarity with user experience (UX) research methods and usability testing
- Knowledge of industry regulations and standards relevant to ergonomics
