Role Overview
We are on the lookout for an experienced Director of Genetic Counseling to lead our innovative team dedicated to providing state-of-the-art genetic services. In this fully remote role, you will strategize and oversee the development of genetic counseling programs, ensuring that we are at the forefront of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care while fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration within our organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives for genetic counseling services, aligning with our organizational goals and patient needs
- Lead a diverse team of genetic counselors, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities
- Establish and maintain standards of practice and quality assurance protocols to ensure optimal patient care
- Collaborate with clinical, research, and administrative teams to enhance service delivery and outcomes
- Drive innovation in genetic counseling practices, utilizing the latest advancements in technology and methodologies
- Engage with external stakeholders, including healthcare providers and patient advocacy groups, to promote our genetic services
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Master's or Doctorate degree in Genetic Counseling or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in genetic counseling, with at least 2 years in a leadership role
- Board certification from the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of genetic testing technologies, ethical considerations, and patient advocacy
Preferred:
- Experience in developing and implementing genetic counseling programs in a clinical setting
- Familiarity with telehealth services and remote patient care
- Proven ability to foster team collaboration and drive positive patient outcomes
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Deep understanding of genetic testing methodologies and their applications
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and genetic counseling software
- Experience using data analytics to assess program effectiveness and improve service delivery
