Role Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Kennel Manager to oversee the daily operations of our kennel facility. In this role, you will ensure the highest level of care for our canine residents, manage staff, and maintain compliance with all safety and health regulations. Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the kennel, ensuring a safe and clean environment for all dogs.
- Manage and train kennel staff, providing guidance on best practices for animal care and customer service.
- Develop and implement care protocols and schedules that optimize dog health and happiness.
- Monitor the physical and behavioral health of all dogs, addressing any issues promptly and effectively.
- Communicate with pet owners to provide updates on their pets and address any concerns or questions.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding animal care and welfare.
- Manage inventory and supplies, including food, medications, and cleaning products.
- Oversee the financial aspects of the kennel, including budgeting, billing, and expense tracking.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 3+ years of experience in animal care or kennel management, with a proven track record of leadership.
- Strong understanding of canine behavior and health requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with staff and pet owners.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Preferred:
- Certification in animal care or management (e.g., veterinary technician, kennel management certification).
- Experience with veterinary care or handling special needs dogs.
- Familiarity with pet training and behavior modification techniques.
