Role Overview
We are seeking a Marine Operations Manager to oversee and optimize our marine operations, ensuring the efficient and safe execution of all marine activities. This role will involve strategic planning, resource management, and compliance with industry regulations while leading a team dedicated to operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement operational strategies to enhance marine efficiency and safety.
- Manage daily marine operations, including vessel scheduling, crew management, and logistics coordination.
- Ensure compliance with maritime regulations, safety standards, and environmental policies.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to minimize operational risks.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure the integrity and reliability of marine assets.
- Lead and mentor a diverse team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
- Prepare and manage budgets related to marine operations and ensure cost-effective practices.
- Maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies, stakeholders, and suppliers.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in marine operations management or a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of maritime regulations and operational best practices.
- Proven experience in managing teams and leading operational initiatives.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with marine logistics and supply chain management.
- Certifications such as STCW, ISM, or similar.
- Familiarity with maritime safety management systems and auditing processes.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in marine operational software and management systems.
- Strong understanding of vessel dynamics and maritime navigation systems.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies.
