Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Auto Body Shop Manager to oversee our operations, ensuring high-quality repairs and exceptional customer service. In this pivotal role, you will lead a team of skilled technicians, manage workflow, and implement best practices that enhance productivity and profitability while maintaining our commitment to safety and quality.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily shop operations, ensuring that all repair work meets industry standards and customer expectations
- Manage and mentor a team of auto body technicians, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
- Develop and implement operational strategies to optimize workflow and increase efficiency
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations
- Prepare and manage budgets, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded
- Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of experience in auto body repair, with at least 2 years in a management role
- Proven track record of successfully managing a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong knowledge of repair techniques, tools, and equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred:
- Certification from a recognized automotive body repair program
- Experience with estimating software and shop management systems
- Ability to analyze financial reports and implement strategies for cost control
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in using shop management software and estimating tools
- Familiarity with automotive repair technologies and equipment
- Understanding of quality control processes and metrics
