Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Aircraft Structural Mechanic to join our innovative engineering team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safety and reliability of our aircraft by performing structural repairs, modifications, and installations. Your expertise will help us maintain our commitment to excellence and uphold the highest standards of aerospace engineering.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of aircraft structures to identify defects and assess repair needs
- Perform structural repairs utilizing techniques such as welding, riveting, and bonding to restore aircraft integrity
- Interpret and follow engineering drawings, technical manuals, and maintenance schematics
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement modifications and upgrades on existing aircraft
- Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations to maintain compliance during all maintenance activities
- Document work performed and maintain accurate records in accordance with FAA standards
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior mechanics and apprentices
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent with relevant technical training in aircraft maintenance
- 5+ years of experience as an Aircraft Structural Mechanic or similar role in the aerospace industry
- Proven expertise in aircraft structural repair and maintenance procedures
- Strong knowledge of FAA regulations and safety standards
- Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and blueprints
Preferred:
- Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certification
- Experience with composite materials and advanced repair techniques
- Familiarity with aircraft inspection processes and quality assurance protocols
- Experience working on a variety of aircraft types and models
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and specialized aviation equipment
- Experience with Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) methods and equipment
- Knowledge of materials science as it pertains to aircraft structures
