Role Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Adult Protective Services Manager to lead our team in safeguarding vulnerable adults and ensuring that they receive the appropriate care and protection. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of programs that protect at-risk adults from abuse, neglect, and exploitation, while fostering a culture of empathy and respect within our organization.
Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise the Adult Protective Services team, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and policies.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate protective service programs that effectively respond to the needs of vulnerable adults.
- Conduct assessments and investigations into reports of abuse, neglect, or exploitation, collaborating with law enforcement and community organizations as necessary.
- Provide training and support to staff members, emphasizing best practices in adult protective services and trauma-informed care.
- Utilize data and metrics to assess program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
- Engage with stakeholders, including community partners and advocacy groups, to promote awareness and understanding of adult protective services.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in adult protective services, social work, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and best practices in adult protective services.
- Proven ability to manage and mentor a diverse team, fostering a collaborative work environment.
Preferred:
- Master's degree in social work or related field.
- Experience in program development and evaluation.
- Familiarity with data management systems and reporting.
Technical Skills and Relevant Technologies
- Proficiency in case management software and electronic records systems.
- Ability to analyze data and generate reports to inform decision-making.
