As a Talent Sourcer, you’ll be the creative and strategic gatekeeper who identifies and engages the best talent to start our recruitment process. You’ll play a crucial role in driving our growth by sourcing high-quality candidates for both technical and non-technical positions across LATAM and collaborating with our team to meet client needs. This role is perfect for someone who thrives on creativity, autonomy, and collaboration while delivering results.

What You’ll Do

  • Source, pre-screen, and submit candidates for a variety of roles, both technical and non-technical.
  • Engage with candidates through creative and strategic communication across different platforms (LinkedIn, Slack, GitHub, etc.).
  • Guide candidates through the initial stages of the recruitment process, including evaluation assessments.
  • Build talent pipelines and proactively identify new channels to discover top talent.
  • Maintain and update our Applicant Tracking System (ATS) with candidate details and progress.
  • Collaborate with the team to develop and refine sourcing strategies.
  • Represent Zipdev’s commitment to authenticity, teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning in every interaction.

What Success Looks Like

Your key performance indicators (KPIs) will focus on:

  • The quality of candidates you source and present.
  • The number of successful hires that start each month.

Our Evaluation Process

Candidates can expect the following steps:

  • Video Submission: Submit a short video answering questions about your experience and interests.
  • Initial Screening: A 15-minute interview with our Talent Sourcer to assess English fluency and suitability.
  • Toggl Assessment: Complete an English and recruitment skills assessment.
  • Technical Recruiter Interview: A detailed discussion to evaluate your skills and fit.
  • Cultural Fit Interview: Meet with team members for the final round.
  • Reference Check: Finalize the process with a thorough reference check.

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of experience in the recruiting field (experience in the technology field is a big plus).
  • Superior English fluency (verbal and written).
  • Experience with sourcing techniques (Boolean searches, social platforms, etc.) and familiarity with ATS tools.
  • Exceptional communication skills—creative, clear, and professional.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • A proactive and strategic approach to sourcing and candidate engagement.

Note on Experience Level:

We value and appreciate diverse professional backgrounds, but this is a Junior-level role designed for individuals with 1-2 years of experience in the recruiting field. If your career includes significantly more experience or you're seeking a Senior-level opportunity, this might not be the best fit. We want to ensure the role aligns with your career goals and growth expectations.

Our Story

Why was Zipdev Founded?

Zipdev’s co-founders, Mike Lenny and Daniel Altenburg, first met while living in Lima, Peru, where they earned each other’s trust playing rugby and traveling around Latin America together. Zipdev was born after they had both moved back to San Diego, when Mike asked Daniel for help finding solid software engineers to help develop an app he wanted to build.

At first they struggled to find the right option. Trying to build out a full team software development team in California was costly, and a couple false starts with teams in disparate time zones was discouraging. But soon they realized that they had a resource that they knew well right in their own backyard: Latin America.

So after much searching and relationship building, Mike and Daniel found some very talented software engineers to work with. They then spread the word about their experience with members of the San Diego startup community, some of whom convinced them to start Zipdev and became its first customers in 2015.

Zipdev has since grown into a multidisciplinary team of recruiters, software engineers, designers, QA testers, project managers, product owners, and more spanning multiple cities in the United States and Latin America and all dedicated to providing its clients with dependable technology professionals whether remote or onsite.

Zipdev recruits local candidates for your on-site positions and specializes in building your distributed team in your time zone with candidates based in Latin America.
