As a global multi-stakeholder initiative of more than 160 contributors, ZDHC provides a proven blueprint for sustainable chemical management that is scalable, science-based, and designed for real-world implementation. The Foundation oversees the Roadmap to Zero Programme, which has engaged over 350 industry signatories and transformed how the industry approaches chemical safety - shifting from testing final products to managing input chemistry at the source.

At the heart of ZDHC's impact is the Manufacturing Restricted Substances List (MRSL), a globally recognized framework that helps industries clearly communicate which chemicals are harmful and work systematically to eliminate them. The ZDHC Gateway serves as the world's largest database dedicated to enabling safer choices of chemical products for the textile, apparel, and footwear industry, bringing unprecedented transparency to supply chains. Established in 2015 on the revolutionary idea of preventing hazardous chemicals rather than detecting them after production, ZDHC has developed comprehensive platforms, solutions, and training that drive resource efficiency, protect biodiversity, and advance circularity. The organization's ambitious 2030 goal targets 100% chemical formulation conformance within the ZDHC Community and 70% across the global industry, demonstrating measurable progress toward detoxing the fashion industry and protecting life, land, air, and water.
