Wood is recruiting for a Senior HSE Advisor to join its Operations Americas business, focusing on the Power and Industrial sector. This is a regionally remote opportunity supporting multiple sites across the southeastern United States, with most located in Florida, and requires up to 60% travel.
The Role
The Senior HSE Advisor will provide on-site health, safety, and environmental support across multiple industrial sites, primarily in Florida. This role ensures compliance with regulatory and client HSE standards, leads incident investigations, and supports project teams in identifying and mitigating HSE risks.

Typical responsibilities
- Provide on-site HSE support across multiple industrial construction sites, primarily in Florida, with up to 60% travel
- Design, implement, and oversee HSE programs in collaboration with HSE and site management teams
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with federal, state, client, and company HSE standards
- Lead or support incident investigations, including root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
- Develop and implement project-specific HSE plans, ensuring alignment with client and company requirements
- Support project teams in identifying, evaluating, and mitigating HSE risks throughout project phases
- Monitor and analyze HSE performance data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement
- Deliver or coordinate HSE training and ensure accurate tracking of training records
- Oversee contractor and subcontractor compliance with HSE policies and procedures
- Manage emergency preparedness plans, PPE requirements, and injury care and reporting processes
- Promote a strong safety culture through employee engagement and recognition initiatives

Expected:
- Degree in HSE or a related field (associate or bachelor’s), or completion of two years of technical training, or equivalent relevant work experience
- Minimum 5 years of field experience in HSE or related roles (with verifiable references).
- OSHA 500 certification (required).
- Intermediate knowledge of federal and state HSE regulations and standards.
- Experience in HSE performance metrics (leading and lagging indicators).
- Bilingual in Spanish and English (mandatory).
- Authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Desirable:
- CHST, ASP, or CSP certifications.
- OSHA 40 / HAZWOPER certification.
- Experience in the power construction industry, especially with outages.
