WISEcode is transforming food and health through advanced AI that analyzes ingredients, nutrition labels, processing levels, and health impacts—giving consumers and companies unprecedented clarity on what’s really in their food.
As we prepare for a major commercial launch in the Consumer Package Goods Small Medium Sized Business Market - and a presence at Expo West 2026 - we are hiring a Sales Director focused on the SMB / emerging CPG market—the core of the Expo West ecosystem. The position will also work directly with decision makers from leading Retailer/Grocery Chains and Food Distributors related to the “Expo West” industry segment
This role is ideal for a driven sales professional who understands the natural products landscape, can speak credibly about nutrition and food transparency, and excels at building relationships with executive level leaders and decision makers.
Candidates with backgrounds in nutritional sciences, food science, wellness, or health-related fields will have the opportunity to excel in this role given their existing understanding of the values, concerns, motivations and use cases of different segments of the broader market.
Key Responsibilities
1. SMB “Expo West” Pipeline Development
- Develop a high-quality pipeline of emerging CPG brands aligned with SMB, Mid-Market and Emerging CPG “Expo West” companies with a focus on: natural, organic, functional foods, beverages, supplements, clean-label products, and better-for-you innovations.
- Use exhibitor lists, CPG founder communities, LinkedIn, and category insights to prioritize high-fit SMB targets.
- Own entire demand generation cycle, from targeted company prospecting and initial engagement, through the entire sales process through close - then acting as the key customer point-of-contact for customer retention and growth.
- Prepare brands for pre-Expo outreach, early adopter programs, and onboarding into WISEcode’s SMB offerings.
2. Consultative Sales & Product Demonstration
- Deliver strong product demos tailored to founders, marketers, food scientists, and product teams at small and mid-sized CPG brands.
- Sell WISEcode’s SMB offerings, including:
○ Transparency Pledge & UPF visibility
○ Ingredient & Nutrition Panel verification
○ Influencer Code partnerships / Code Marketplace
○ MCP Server capabilities
- Articulate the ROI of transparency, accuracy, and trust-building for early-stage CPG brands, using both data and mission-aligned messaging.
3. Expo West 2026 Commercial Activation
- Lead all pre-show engagement campaigns to secure meeting commitments ahead of the event.
- Drive signups for:
○ Early adopter cohorts
○ Expo West “Code Showcase” programming
○ White Label Code Development
○ Transparency Pledge participants
- Align closely with CRO and Marketing team to develop SMB-focused collateral, one-pagers, and category-specific demo flows.
4. Ecosystem & Community Partnerships
- Build relationships with:
○ Natural food accelerators and incubators
○ Nutrition, wellness, and dietetics communities
○ Influencers who support founder-led brands
○ Industry associations and non-profits promoting transparency and health
- Support WISEcode’s broader ecosystem strategy by helping activate codes and partnerships within the SMB segment.
5. Internal Collaboration & Reporting
- Maintain clean CRM data and accurate pipeline forecasting.
- Provide structured weekly updates on outreach volume, meetings, deal flow, and revenue targets.
- Collaborate with Product and GTM teams to relay SMB-specific feedback on attributes, dietary tags, ingredient issues, and category nuances.
6. Secondary Focus on Related Market Segments (Distributors & Retailers)
- Engage regional and national distributors who work with Expo-West-style emerging brands to introduce WISEcode’s data, transparency, and product-validation capabilities.
- Support retailer-facing conversations where SMB brands require WISEcode-powered product verification (ingredient accuracy, UPF transparency, dietary tags, clean label positioning).
- Develop relationships with category buyers, retail innovation teams, and distributor brand-management groups to help position WISEcode as a trusted partner in product evaluation and shelf optimization.
- Leverage distributor and retailer involvement as a pull-through strategy that encourages SMB CPG adoption of WISEcode.
Qualifications
Required:
- 5+ years of B2B technology sales, partnerships or business development
- Proven ability to independently source prospects, run demos, manage pipelines, close deals, and manage ongoing relationships
- Exceptionally strong presentation and communication skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working in a fast-moving early-stage environment
Preferred:
- Background or education in nutrition, food systems, health sciences, wellness, or related applied science fields
- Experience working with or selling into CPG brands, especially within the natural, organic, or functional food categories
- Familiarity with nutrition labels, ingredients, clean-label trends, wellness standards, or food transparency initiatives
- Personal passion for healthy living, food quality, and transparency—matching the values of Expo West founders
