Scope of Work / Responsibilities
Client is seeking a highly experienced Bilingual Medical Scribe Virtual Assistant to support a busy healthcare practice with medical documentation, patient communication, and administrative support.
The primary focus of this role is medical scribing and note documentation, helping reduce the workload on in-house medical assistants while improving the accuracy and completeness of patient records.
The ideal candidate has strong healthcare experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently within a fast-paced clinical environment.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Medical Scribing & Documentation (Top Priority)
- Accurately document patient visits and medical notes
- Assist providers with detailed medical documentation
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of patient records
- Support SOAP note preparation and clinical documentation workflows
- Reduce documentation burden on medical assistants
2. Phone Support & Patient Communication
- Handle inbound and outbound patient calls professionally
- Assist with patient communication and follow-up
- Support administrative coordination related to patient care
3. Patient Triage & Administrative Support
- Assist with patient triage support
- Help route patient concerns appropriately
- Support clinic administrative workflows and documentation tasks
Systems & Tools Used
- Athena Health (EHR/EMR)
- Availity (insurance verification)
Requirements
- Extensive medical scribing experience is REQUIRED
- Healthcare industry background required
- Pain management experience preferred
- Bilingual Spanish-English proficiency required
Required Skills
Medical Scribing & Documentation
- Strong experience with medical documentation workflows
- Familiarity with SOAP note formatting preferred
- Ability to capture complete and accurate patient information
Healthcare Knowledge
- Understanding of medical terminology and clinical workflows
- Comfortable supporting patient triage and documentation tasks
Technical Skills
- Experience using Athena Health or similar EHR systems
- Familiarity with insurance verification systems like Availity
Communication Skills
- Fluent in both Spanish and English
- Professional patient communication skills
- Strong phone etiquette and patient interaction ability

Deal Breakers
- No medical scribing experience
- Not bilingual in Spanish and English
- Weak medical documentation skills

Basic requirements
- Must be proficient in speaking and writing English very clearly
- Must have relevant work experience
- Be able to submit an NBI clearance and/or Local Police Clearance background check before onboarding [mandatory]
- Must be available for video meetings with your camera on (when needed)
