The story of Weatherford International began in 1941 in the small town of Weatherford, Texas, where Jesse E. Hall Sr. founded the Weatherford Spring Company. What started as a modest operation manufacturing spring brakes for trucks and trailers soon pivoted to meet the growing demands of the oil and gas industry. By 1948, the company had rebranded as the Weatherford Oil Tool Company, establishing a reputation for its cementing and casing equipment. Throughout the latter half of the 20th century, Weatherford grew from a regional manufacturer into a global powerhouse. A pivotal moment arrived in 1998 with the merger of EVI, Inc., which catalyzed a period of aggressive growth involving over 300 strategic acquisitions. This expansion diversified the company's portfolio, allowing it to offer a comprehensive suite of services ranging from well construction and completion to production and intervention.
