The Polysomnographic Technologist assists investigators with clinical research studies, sets up and monitors recording equipment, and interacts with patients. This is a PRN position, requiring 20 hours or less per week, and can be done remotely.
Requirements
- Sets up, calibrates and monitors recording equipment
- Recognizes and records clinical and physiological relevant events
- Detects and corrects equipment malfunctions
- Interprets polysomnogram data
- Interviews patients to obtain sleep history
- Handles phone calls and answers questions for patients and physicians
- Prepares for patients in high-risk situations
- Aids in the training of new trainees
- Supervises and coordinates activities of other outpatients
- Checks inventories and orders supplies
- Assists with general maintenance and organization of the lab area
