Job description

A Security Engineer is a professional who is responsible for keeping the digital security of their company or client’s networks up-to-date. They help implement new protocols, operate a computer system that protects against cyber attacks from outside sources, as well as maintain an IT infrastructure in order to provide maximum protection within an organization’s walls.

Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information
• Identify and define system security requirements
• Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols
• Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices
• Design computer security architecture and develop detailed cyber security designs
• Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
• Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement as well as ensure that the company knows as much as possible, as quickly as possible about security incidents

Requirements

Technical skills

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 2+ years experience
• Proven work experience as a System Security Engineer or Information Security Engineer
• Experience in building and maintaining security systems
• Detailed technical knowledge of database and operating system security
• Hands on experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management, content filtering, etc
• Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools
• Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols

Work Conditions and Compensation

Fully Remote Work: This 100% remote position allows you to work anywhere.

Flexible Work Schedule: We offer a flexible work schedule that allows you to manage your time while ensuring effective collaboration across our globally distributed teams. The official workday starts between 8 AM and 11 AM (employee local time) and ends between 5 PM and 8 PM (employee local time). While flexibility is encouraged, occasional work outside typical hours may be required to align with colleagues in different time zones. Open communication and availability for cross-time-zone meetings are essential for seamless teamwork.

Time Tracking: Employees are required to use time tracker software to monitor working hours and productivity.
