The story of Visana Health is deeply personal, rooted in the experiences of its founder and CEO, Joe Connolly. Growing up, Joe witnessed firsthand the debilitating impact of gynecological conditions as he watched his mother, grandmother, and aunt suffer from the excruciating pain of endometriosis. For two and a half decades, he saw the women he loved navigate a healthcare system that often dismissed their pain, misdiagnosed their conditions, and left them feeling unheard and unsupported. This formative experience ignited a passion within him to change the narrative for women's health. Armed with a background in biomedical engineering, Joe envisioned a new approach—one that would leverage technology to bridge the vast gaps in care and empower women with the knowledge and tools to take control of their health journeys. This vision became the bedrock of Visana Health, a company founded in 2019 with a clear and powerful mission: to fix the broken system that was failing women across the globe.

From its inception, Visana Health set out to be more than just another digital health platform. It was designed to be a comprehensive virtual women's health clinic, a true home for women's health that extends far beyond the traditional focus on fertility and maternity. The company assembled a world-class team of specialists, including OB/GYNs, nurse practitioners, psychologists, and dietitians, all united by a commitment to providing evidence-based, whole-person care. The platform was built on four key pillars of integrated care: pelvic floor physical therapy, disease education, diet and nutrition, and cognitive behavioral therapy, all delivered through a user-friendly mobile application. This model allows Visana to address a wide spectrum of conditions, from menstruation to menopause, with a particular focus on complex and often overlooked issues like PCOS and endometriosis. By creating a space where women are listened to, believed, and empowered, Visana Health is not just treating symptoms; it's building a community and fostering a new standard of care that puts women at the very center.
