Position Overview:

As a Software Development Manager, you'll lead a talented team of engineers responsible for the entire software lifecycle – from concept and design to development, deployment, and ongoing maintenance. You'll collaborate with Solution Architects and leverage your technical expertise to translate business needs into scalable software solutions.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of engineers and Tech Leads
  • Foster a collaborative environment across teams, optimizing communication and knowledge sharing
  • Coach and mentor engineers, providing feedback and supporting career development
  • Handle recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members
  • Monitor and manage team productivity
  • Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and design reviews
  • Collaborate with leaders to establish and enforce best practices for software development
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies
  • Spearhead technical development initiatives and drive innovation
  • Oversee the software development lifecycle (planning, development, testing, deployment, maintenance)
  • Translate business needs into technical solutions and manage projects
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and meet quality standards
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Architects, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software products
  • Provide regular performance feedback and conduct performance reviews

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field (Computer science, Computer engineering Information Tech/Systems, etc.)
  • Experience (8+ years) in software development, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development and architecture. (C#, .NET, T-SQL, object-oriented programming)
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex software projects and delivering high-quality software on time and within budget.
  • Proficiency in Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • You thrive in a collaborative environment, partnering effectively with product and program management.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools is a plus.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.
