Job Summary:

The Program Coordinator for the Southeast AIDS Education and Training Center (SE AETC) will work with the AETC Team to coordinate and facilitate virtual and in-person educational events and programs for HIV professionals in the state of Tennessee and the region. Ideal candidates will have experience in event planning, marketing, and social media; will possess strong communication and organizational skills; will be open to traveling within the state of Tennessee to independently facilitate training opportunities; and will be comfortable with public speaking. This position requires a self-starter who enjoys being part of a team working on creating training experiences primarily within the state of Tennessee.

The program is a hybrid position at VUMC, within the Infectious Diseases Division and the SE AETC. The position will be in person 2 days a week at the 100 Oaks campus, and remote 3 days a week.

Preferred qualifications:

At least 5 years of relevant experience; experience working with HIV patients and professionals highly desirable; medical or health care background or work in public health a plus.

The Department of Medicine’s Division of Infectious Diseases is dedicated to enhancing the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases through discovery and application of new knowledge that is integrated with the mentorship of trainees to become the next generation of national leaders in the field.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Plan and coordinate educational events for Tennessee, design and assemble training materials, organize presenters, arrange travel and location logistics for at least 2 large meetings per year in additional to other smaller events. Will involve travel within the state, approximately once a month

  • Plan virtual interactive training events for statewide participants

  • Enter event and learner details into the Southeast AETC database and confirm participants have completed all paperwork accurately.

  • Complete CE applications for educational programs

  • Schedule students for clinical preceptorships at the Vanderbilt Comprehensive Care Clinic (VCCC) and provide orientation for new students

  • Develop orientation schedules for new staff at the VCCC

  • Facilitate outreach to HIV service organizations, public health departments, and FQHCs across the state

  • Ensure completion of Tennessee workplan goals

  • Create a budget for training programs, establish contracts with vendors, and complete Purchase Request Forms for all expenses related to training events.

  • Write ongoing reports regarding educational events and initiatives in Tennessee.

  • Assist with planning other training activities and events that are region wide, and collaborate with partner sites to achieve regional workplan goals. Will involve occasional travel.
