Mexico onlyUP.Labs is a dynamic venture studio seeking a Data Science Engineer to join our growing team and contribute to launching the next wave of successful startups. We're looking for a Senior Machine Learning Scientist with a deep technical foundation and a passion for building agentic AI systems that integrate directly with Large Language Models (LLMs).
Requirements
- 4–7 years of experience applying machine learning in production, with a strong focus on systems-level thinking.
- Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Math, Computer Science, Data Science).
- Proven experience with LLM integration, LLM-based agents, or related autonomous reasoning systems is highly valued.
- Strong foundation in classic ML algorithms (regression, decision trees, XGBoost, LGBM, random forest, anomaly detection, constraint optimization, etc.).
- Experience building and deploying end-to-end AI systems: from unstructured data cleansing to model training, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Solid engineering skills: Python, SQL, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Within Azure: Azure AI Foundry and Azure data stack.
- Comfortable working with ambiguous datasets and developing custom pipelines for inference and learning.
- Excellent communication skills—you can explain complex concepts clearly in English, both in writing and verbally.
- Background in LangGraph and LangChain.
- Familiarity with agile, CI/CD, and lean product development.
- Preferred Experience: Background in retail tech industry. Experience performing web scraping projects. Expertise in Databricks.
