About the role:
We are looking for an AI engineer who takes products from 0 to 1 and/or 1 to 10. This role will be a mix of R&D and on-the-ground implementation, primarily focused on empowering crime investigations. You’ll be interacting with customers, different parts of the company, and getting a full understanding of what’s needed to solve the biggest pains, then planning and executing on solutions. This is a career-making role.
What you will be doing:
● Design and build AI products within Unit21’s ecosystem
● Work with distributed systems and data pipelines
● Wear whatever hats necessary to get the job done
What we’re looking for:
● Hustle, curiosity, humility
● Some subset of the following:
- Experience using inference via API (e.g. bedrock, anthropic, or open AI APIs)
- Experience managing token usage
- Experience with prompt engineering and management
- Experience with evaluation set writing and analysis
● Strength in Python or other Object-Oriented programming languages
● Experience working with, optimizing, and creating schema across different datastores
● Experience with AWS (cloud) and Terraform (IAAS) or equivalents
● Experience building & managing distributed systems
● Experience in building and managing distributed systems
● Typical SaaS dev workflow experience in design, source control, automated build/deployments, code reviews, testing methodology, etc
Work Location
Remote work is limited to the following U.S. states:

Compensation
The base salary range for this role is$160,000–$230,000 annually, depending on experience and location.
This range does not include bonuses, equity, or other incentives.
