About University of Arkansas System
At the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Health, our primary focus is the health and well-being of every Arkansan. We understand that our patients and their families need accessible, world-class medical care, which is why we have established a comprehensive health system that serves the entire state. As Arkansas' only academic health center, we are uniquely positioned to provide innovative, patient- and family-centered care, offering specialty expertise that is often not available in local community settings. Our customers, the people of Arkansas, face diverse and complex health challenges. To meet these needs, we operate a 535-bed hospital, which includes the state's only adult Level 1 Trauma Center, a high-risk pregnancy program, and the only liver and kidney transplant programs in Arkansas. We recognize that for many, specialized care for conditions like sickle cell disease, spina bifida, and cystic fibrosis is difficult to find, which is why we are proud to house the state's only dedicated adult clinics for these and other complex conditions.
Our commitment to our patients extends beyond the walls of our main campus in Little Rock. We know that quality healthcare needs to be convenient, which is why we have a network of neighborhood clinics, Family Medical Centers in every region of the state, and robust digital health services. This ensures that no matter where our patients live, they have a connection to the expert care UAMS Health provides. We are dedicated to not just treating illness, but to advancing knowledge and improving health outcomes for generations to come. Through our six health sciences colleges and a graduate school, we are educating the next wave of healthcare professionals, from doctors and nurses to pharmacists and public health experts. Our research institutes are at the forefront of translating scientific discoveries into tangible health improvements, tackling everything from cancer to aging. For our patients, this means access to the latest treatments and clinical trials, ensuring they receive the most advanced care possible right here in Arkansas.
