You’ll be joining a team of passionate teachers working to create Twinkl’s online PE content for teachers across the UK. The majority of your time will be spent working with other Content Writers and Editors, engaging with product priorities to facilitate the highest possible quality of teacher content for our customers. Your weekly activities could include:

  • Creating new resources to support teaching and learning across the curriculum.
  • Responding to editorial feedback and working alongside colleagues to elevate a resource to an excellent standard.
  • Sharing PE knowledge with the team about how to write a variety of resources which engage learners and appeal to teachers.
  • Using their own knowledge of PE to support the team with their resource content.
  • Producing resources which respond to customer needs and current teaching methodologies.
  • Meeting with other members of the team to discuss and develop new ideas.
  • Checking a broad range of new resources for spelling, punctuation, grammar, curriculum relevance and factual accuracy.
  • Sensitively offering feedback, advice and support to our writers and designers where needed.
  • Running workshops with other members of your team.
  • Demonstrating excellent communication skills with the writers, designers and illustrators that you collaborate with.
  • Curating existing content on site to ensure that it is up to date and meets customers' needs.

Our ideal candidate will be passionate about giving back to the education community and keen to share their PE expertise with others in their team. This position is remote and the hours can be worked flexibly with the expectation that you will have good daytime availability for training, meetings, collaboration and ongoing CPD, particularly in your training period/first month. You would need to be available around our core hours (10am-2pm) Mon-Fri, on a minimum of 2 days per week.

To succeed in the role, you will:

  • have completed primary qualified teacher status: PGCE, B.Ed or equivalent;
  • have 2 years of full classroom teaching experience after QTS is complete;
  • be a confident practitioner in the delivery of the primary PE curriculum;
  • be a fantastic communicator who thrives when working in a close-knit team;
  • have detailed and up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum in England (or another curriculum where English is the main language);
  • be prepared to confidently work between different IT platforms, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and G Suite;
  • understand the teaching community in England (or another teaching community where English is the main language) , knowing their unique pressures and current educational trends;
  • have a drive for continuous professional development.

In this role, you will learn:

  • how to ideate and create diverse, inclusive, engaging and varied resources for children and teachers.
  • how to check content and provide feedback.
  • how to work in ‘agile’ teams, allowing you to solve problems and change tasks quickly to meet deadlines.
  • how to collaborate with educational professionals based across the UK through our company focus groups and customer feedback requests.
  • how to apply your teaching experience to create new products, from ideation stage to publication.
  • how to use Project Tracking software as well as other in-house systems.

  • Your own direct Line Manager who will be confirmed if you are successful. (Helen Brooks)
  • Our team of qualified teachers who currently write, edit and produce content for the PE team.
  • Our amazing in-house design and illustration teams, collaborating daily to produce the beautiful, polished resources that Twinkl are known for.

Requirements

We're interested in anyone who meets one, or a combination of the following:

  • Has taught PE across primary school.
  • Has detailed knowledge of the content of the PE 2014 National Curriculum (or another curriculum where English is the main language)
  • Has led PE as a subject leader or co-ordinator. (desirable but not essential)
  • A strong interest in PE, physical activity and sport.
  • Access to a fast and reliable internet connection of at least 6mb down and 1mb upload. We recommend you use speedtest.net to check.
  • You will be responsible for supplying and maintaining your own IT equipment if working remotely.
