Position: Senior Backend Developer -Connectivity Lead (m/f/d)

Location of the role: Germany/Spain (Remote)

As a Senior Backend Developer - Connectivity Lead, you will be responsible to support our CDP Engineering Team in building and expanding a system for integrating Property Management Systems (PMS) used by hotels and efficiently processing the resulting data streams.
The ideal candidate will be having extensive experience in API integrations, interface design, and event-driven data processing.

In your role, you will make an impact by….

  • Architecture Design:
  • Developing and continuously improving a robust platform that integrates data from various hotel PMS via REST, SOAP, or proprietary APIs.
  • Designing event- and batch-based data workflows to handle large-scale data in a secure and efficient manner.
  • API Connectivity Integration:
  • Analyzing and implementing interfaces (REST, SOAP, proprietary APIs) to integrate multiple, often diverse, hotel PMS solutions.
  • Building reliable, reusable connectors and integration modules.
  • Collaborating closely with clients and partner companies to enable customizations and ensure smooth data flows.
  • Technical Implementation:
  • Using modern backend technologies, primarily Python and Node.js (TypeScript).
  • Employing containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) to ensure stable and scalable services.
  • Implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and fast deployment.
  • Leadership Collaboration:
  • Serving as the technical point of contact for the Connectivity Team and mentor junior team members.
  • Collaborating with our CDP Engineering Team, Product Owners, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
  • Taking a leading role in architectural decisions and the continuous improvement of development and operational processes.

You are a perfect fit, if you have…

  • Professional Experience:
  • At least 10 years (ideally 15+ years) of experience in software development, including a minimum of 5 years as a Senior Backend Engineer.
  • Proven track record in managing complex integration scenarios.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Strong proficiency in Python and/or Node.js (TypeScript).
  • Hands-on experience with REST and SOAP; comfortable working with complex or proprietary APIs.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker), basic understanding of Kubernetes, and experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
  • Background in event-driven and batch-driven architectures, data processing, and observability (monitoring/logging).
  • Familiarity with Google ads/Meta ads and similar apis is a plus.
  • Soft Skills Work Approach:
  • High level of motivation, attention to quality, and strong analytical skills.
  • Team-player mindset with the ability to technically lead and inspire others.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (German is a plus), enabling effective coordination with both internal and external stakeholders.
