About the role
Tort Experts is seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Finance to lead the financial operations of our growing company. The VP of Finance will be responsible for overseeing financial planning, budgeting, reporting, and ensuring the financial health of the company. This role requires a hands-on leader with strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of financial best practices, and experience working in high-growth, fast-paced environments, preferably in performance marketing, legal services, or technology driven industries.
What you'll do
- Develop and execute financial strategies to support Tort Experts’ business objectives and growth trajectory.
- Monitor cash flow, financial performance, and key metrics, providing valuable insights to leadership.
- Manage financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in accordance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with the executive team to drive strategic decision-making through data-driven financial insights.
- Optimize revenue recognition, cost structures, and financial efficiency to maximize profitability.
- Establish and maintain strong internal controls, risk management policies, and financial compliance.
- Collaborate with external auditors, investors, and financial institutions as needed.
- Identify opportunities and collaborate with technology team for automation, financial technology solutions, and process improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
- Manage and monitor vendor invoicing, approval and payment processes with close attention to detail for accuracy and multiple audit stages.
- Manage payroll processing, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.
- Manage tax planning, compliance, and reporting to optimize tax efficiency and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Manage forecasts and growth of operating budgets, runway of new clients/projects runway, headcount, and software
- Evaluate full stack of financial software to determine if transition should be made to more robust platforms
- Lead a high-performing finance team of four bookkeepers and internal auditors, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and collaboration.
- Grow the finance team if/as needed to be able to smoothly manage all responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- CPA preferred
- MBA is nice to have
- 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience
- Proven experience in high-growth environments
- Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic planning capabilities
- Expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management
- Deep understanding of regulatory requirements, compliance, and financial best practices
- Experience with Rippling (HRIS) and QuickBooks Online (Accounting) is a plus but not required.
