This position will report to The Athletic’s Supervisor, Talent Acquisition and support the rapidly scaling business across HQ and Newsroom talent acquisition.
The ideal candidate will play a critical part in facilitating the movement of candidates through the end-to-end recruitment process. They will support the Supervisor, Talent Acquisition to provide our candidates and hiring teams with smooth interviewing experiences and serve as a main point of contact throughout the entire interview process. They may also be exposed to or responsible for other recruitment activities such as job postings, liaising with cross-functional operational team members on the People and Finance teams, reporting, and more.
This a part-time (20-25 hours per week), fixed-term position through December 31, 2024 and is a remote role for candidates based in the United States or Canada only.
Responsibilities
- Schedule a high volume of phone, video and/or in-person interviews, internal debriefs and technical and writing assessments across multiple departments.
- Partner with the Supervisor, Talent Acquisition with candidate management by moving candidates through the interview stages in Lever.
- Support and develop top-of-funnel talent acquisition strategies that attract quality candidates representative of the broader talent population.
- Contribute to other related recruiting projects for improving the candidate experience and scheduling efficiency.
- Collaborate with members of the People and Finance teams to support strategic talent acquisition processes and initiatives.
- Monitor the effectiveness of talent acquisition strategies, the hiring funnel, and other key metrics that drive a successful talent acquisition strategy.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, core values, and standards of ethics & integrity.
Requirements
- 1 to 3 years in an in-house and/or agency in a talent acquisition support function.
- Experience managing multiple requisitions simultaneously.
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems, Lever a strong plus.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience driving top-of-funnel sourcing strategies.
- Experience partnering with cross functional teams to identify role requirements and expectations.
- Experience with LinkedIn and other job boards. Partnering with job boards focused on underrepresented talent is a strong plus.
- Superb organization skills and strong attention to detail; ability to manage time efficiently.
- Demonstrated experience working in a 100% remote capacity with full autonomy.
- This role will be remote for candidates based in the United States or Canada only.
